Cannova`s Italian Cuisine in Freeport

Lovely.......dinner with my daughter....Ziti with Sliced Meatballs....delicious!! And Pizza!

We had shrimp and chicken penne and I can't remember what my husband had but both were amazing. We took there chocolate cake to go and it was good as well. Leftovers we're just as good as the night we had it. Great food and portions.

Always like the atmosphere. Great food.

5+ stars! A real Italian restaurant! Been owned by the same family since 1926. Great service, fantastic food and wonderful atmosphere. This restaurant rivals any Italian restaurant in the country. Pizzas are fantastic! Everything is home made of course and they are also known for their Sicilian Filet. You can't go wrong here. A lot of the employees ate family and a lot of the non family employees have been here for years and years. Our waitress has 26 years of service! Cannot say enough good about this restaurant. If you are in town for 1 meal make sure you go here!

In my opinion, the best restaurant in Freeport. Very friendly, prompt service. Good portion size and excellent, delicious food quality.

First time here and really enjoyed the experience. The wait staff was both friendly and helpful. The broasted chicken and potatoes were delicious. Don't miss the house dressing, it's one of the best I can remember.

Just called in at 7:50 and spoke with an employee. I asked if the kitchen was open. She said "yes what can I get you?" I asked her if I checked the menu and called right back could I place an order. I called her at 7:54 and they said the kitchen was closed and they were no longer taking orders. I will never Never order here again! Terrible customer service tonight!!!!!

Absolutely fantastic. Haven't been in 20 some odd years until today. It was just how I remembered it. Piano in the middle (go on a Friday, Pat is a wizard on the piano). Service was wonderful, server was very knowledgeable about the menu and specials and just as sweet as can be. It brought back so many good memories to be there. Just wish I didn't live so far away, otherwise I would be there much more often. Reasonably priced, if your in the area and looking to impress a date, look no further. You found it

Without a doubt one of the best Italian restaurants west of Providence. The menu is a nice blend of regional Italian foods. A great selection of wines and other adult beverages. Some standard American comfort foods as well. I strongly recommend the filet cooked Pittsburgh rare but you have to ask for it. Pat Beckman is a piano player extraoridinaire and frequently displays those skills for the diners. His wife Linda makes personally certain that every patron is well served and satisfied. My wife and I come here EVERY Valentines Day. Great atmosphere. Live piano. Sicilian Pizza is the best. They do Take N Bake also. Don't forget to order extra marinara for the bread. They do everything right. But reservations are a must.

Took my now girlfriend on a dinner date and wanted something fancy but relaxing and close to her home. I descovered this place through Google, and took her here. And the service was amazing! Wonderful food and a wonderful atmosphere . it was just too bad the piano wasn't being played when we were there.

Our pizza was great and our server Cassie was a delight. She was very helpful and suggested a cocktail that I loved and a wine that my SO enjoyed greatly as well. Would definitely stop in again for more pizza and another old fashioned!

Loved the Gloria Read pizza- scrumptious, heavy cheese mix, fresh tender crust-dipped into the ever exceptional red sauce. Great service, beautiful environment with pleasant piano music filling the room. Very pleased!

It's been a long time since we've been here. It will be a long time before we come back. Waitress was excellent. Food was average and skimped upon. Spaghetti and meat combination consisted of lots of pasta, one small meatball and 1/2 of an Italian sausage. Special salad...no tomatoes to be seen. This is supposed to be an Italian restaurant...no tomato in the salad??? Dissapointed.

The food was delicious, wine 😝🖓tasted mixed (weak) I never saw the bottle she brought the half glass to the table (real wine?) I didn't drink it, I told her about it, she ignored and still charged me for it, she mentioned specials of the day ... prices were higher than in the menu.

Visiting Freeport, I looked at the reviews for this place and was excited to try Cannova's. I ordered the Veal Parmigiana which came with a salad. I also ordered the calamari as an appetizer and a soft drink. The only thing I was pleased with was the drink. The salad was served with ranch dressing. The lettuce was old and discolored. The calamari came out of the kitchen in under 2 minutes, which may sound impressive, except that it was obviously something that got thrown on a plate and microwaved. Lastly the main course was served with cold pasta buried under scorching sauce and meat. The soft drink was surprisingly delicious.

Always a lovely evening! A nice place for an upscale meal or a cozy spot for a delicious pizza!! Great for date night, family night or a wonderful place to impress guests! Top notch service!! Fabulous menu... Something for everyone!!

We ate on the patio which is always nice. I had the special. Broiled Salmon, mixed carrots and linguine in butter sauce. It was fantastic! And let's not forget the yummy Tiramisu!

Definitely my favorite place! I had the seafood pasta it was amazing.

Crisp crust pizza

Stopped and ordered the Tuesday night special and got two pizzas both were fantastic. We are new to Freeport and glad we gave this place a try. It's an old place, we're hoping that the next things we try our fantastic as well.

Broasted chicken was horrible. Too freakn salty ! I bought alot of chicken for later midnight snack. Coulndt eat it of the skin. You need to change your recipe ! Call Happy Wok Express in Loves Park for advice.

Went for the all you can eat spaghetti. Very good food. Had a young woman playing piano which was very nice. Great atmosphere. Can't wait to try their pizza. The prices were pretty good.

Service was good. Food incredibly average ro poor. I ordered the stuffed cheese chicken breast special which turned out to be a tasteless piece of chicken product with no stuffing whatsoever. Im pretty sure it was exactly the frozen one you can buy at the grocery store. The garlic noodles were also completely bland. Just spaghetti noodles with no flavor. We had been here several years ago and liked it. But it certainly was a disappointment this time. 90 dollar bill. Only 1 beer ordered at our table. The rest soft drinks for 3 mediocre at best meals. We will not be returning.

I ordered a pizza for pick up, and asked for it to be pie cut. They square cut it, and when I brought it to the attention of staff I received a bewildered "sorry?". Look, I know that this is how it's done in this part of the country, but the shape of food matters. If a customer orders penne, and the kitchen sends out spaghetti, the customer has a right to have the plate sent back and made correctly. Pizza is no different.The pizza isn't bad, but not worth getting all over my hands while I'm watching a movie.I won't be back.
